Tactile Robotics to help Dentistry students learn remotely during Covid-19

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2020

WINNIPEG, MB – As Universities move to online learning, Tactile Robotics is bringing the future of teaching dentistry to the forefront.

With Covid-19 cases on the rise, and the threat of a second wave looming, Tactile Robotics has created an advanced teaching-learning platform that complements traditional methods by seamlessly integrating and synchronizing video, audio, feel and posture. This new technology, known as DenTeach™, will bring orientation between the instructor and the student in real-time by using the DT-Rightway™ Articulator.

“Covid-19 has hit many individuals in many different ways,” said Dr. Yaser Maddahi, CEO and President of Tactile Robotics. “Dentistry students need to have the hands-on learning to truly learn their craft and that is where we saw a need for DenTeach™.”

Instructors are able to continue teaching their course from home on their Articulator, while students are able to learn the hands-on skills remotely.

DenTeach™ is portable and can be used in both the classroom and from home. Students and instructors can access all their data by connecting to a cloud-based data retrieval system.

Some of the features that will enhance remote learning are DenTeach’s™ integrated video augmented reality, 4 different video angles for comprehensive viewing, and drill sensations that are synchronized to the student and the instructor to create a real-life experience.

DenTeach™ currently holds utility patents (pending approval since 2018) for the technology and the integration of this platform for aspiring dental students and practitioners. To view the product brochure, click here.
